Daily Capsule: Insights is an application for personalized daily knowledge capsules. The app selects and generates educational content adapted to the user's profile, preferences, learning history, and general context.

2. Information we collect

We may collect the following categories of information, depending on the features you use in the app:

• Account data: first name, last name, email address, user identifier, authentication provider, and basic data associated with sign-in.
• Profile data: date of birth, country, state or province, city, interests, preferences, active categories, and other information you choose to share during onboarding or app configuration.
• Learning data: viewed capsules, assigned topics, progress history, content preferences, answers, interactions, and signals such as 'I already knew this', 'I want to know more', or similar actions when available.
• Technical data: device model, operating system, app version, language, technical identifiers, approximate IP address, error events, performance, date, and time of use.
• Advertising data: if the app displays ads, ad providers may process advertising identifiers, device information, ad interactions, and data needed to show, limit, measure, or improve advertising.

3. How we use information

• Create and manage your account.
• Enable sign-in through Google and Firebase Authentication.
• Personalize daily capsules based on your profile, interests, history, and general context.
• Use date of birth to adapt content, calculate age, and detect possible daily relevance when applicable.
• Use country, state or province, and city to adapt examples, cultural context, relevant dates, and local content when appropriate.
• Save your progress, history, and preferences in the app.
• Avoid regenerating the same daily capsules when you return.
• Improve stability, security, performance, and user experience.
• Detect, diagnose, and fix technical errors.
• Show ads or measure their performance when this feature is active.
• Comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect our rights.

4. Third-party services we use

To operate the app, we use third-party services that may process data according to their own policies and configurations:

• Firebase Authentication: used for registration, sign-in, and account management.
• Google Sign-In: used to allow access with a Google account.
• Sentry: used for error monitoring, technical diagnostics, stability, and performance.
• OpenAI: used to generate or adapt knowledge capsules based on the selected topic and the context allowed by the user's profile.
• Google AdMob or other advertising services: used, when active, to show ads, limit their frequency, measure performance, and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with providers only when necessary to provide, protect, improve, or reasonably monetize the app according to this Privacy Policy.

5. Personalization and artificial intelligence

Daily Capsule: Insights uses OpenAI artificial intelligence to generate personalized explanations. To do this, the app may use profile data, preferences, learning history, date of birth, country, state or province, city, and context of the day. Personalization aims to make content more relevant, understandable, and useful for each user.

We avoid sending unnecessary information to external services. When possible, we reduce, limit, or structure the information used to generate personalized content.

6. Ads and user options

The app may include ads to provide free access to part of the service. Ads may be shown by external providers such as Google AdMob. These providers may use device identifiers, advertising identifiers, technical data, and ad interaction signals according to device settings, granted permissions, and applicable laws.

You can manage some ad preferences from your device settings, Google account, or privacy controls available in the app when applicable.

7. Data retention

We keep personal data for as long as necessary to provide the service, maintain your account, personalize your experience, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and improve the app.

Some capsules, history, or technical data may be retained for limited periods depending on functionality. Future versions may allow you to delete history, reset preferences, or delete the account directly from settings.

8. Security

We apply reasonable measures to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no internet-connected system can guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights and controls

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may request access, correction, update, portability, objection, or deletion of your personal data. You may also request deletion of your account and associated data, unless we must retain certain information for legal, security, fraud prevention, or dispute-resolution reasons.

10. Minors

Daily Capsule: Insights is available to a general audience. It is not specifically directed to children, but it may be used by people of different ages when applicable law permits it. If a minor uses the app, they should do so with authorization and supervision from parents or guardians when appropriate.

If you believe a minor provided personal data without valid authorization, contact us so we can review the case and take appropriate measures.

11. International transfers

When using third-party services, your data may be processed or stored in countries other than yours. In those cases, we seek to use providers with reasonable protection, security, and compliance measures.
